Yesterday in the Giustiniani Palace in Venice a press conference was held on the upcoming 58th Venice Biennale of Contemporary Art. This is reported by the publication ArtForum.
President of the Venice Biennale Paolo Baratta and curator of the 58th Venice Biennale of Contemporary Art, Ralph Rugoff, announced the theme of the exhibition: “May you live in interesting times!”. This saying is widely known in the world as an ancient Chinese curse.
“This is the invented Chinese curse, and, despite the fact that this is a figment of the imagination, it has had a real impact on public rhetoric and polemics,” explained Rugoff.
The next Venice Biennale of Contemporary Art will be held from May 11 to November 24, 2019. We suggest you enjoy a special selection of the best works of the past.
