The following spring the Victoria and Albert gallery is set to open the entryways on the biggest and most exhaustive presentation at any point arranged in the UK on the House of Dior.
Opening on February 2, 2019, Christian Dior: Designer of Dreams will be the V&A’s second biggest style show after 2015’s stupendous Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty, and the first to be facilitated in the exhibition hall’s Sainsbury Gallery.
In light of the tremendously well known Christian Dior: Couturier du Rêve display which kept running at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris from July 2017 to January 2018, the show has been reconsidered for the V&A.
Crosswise over 11 dramatic areas, the display follows the history and effect of one of the twentieth century’s most compelling couturiers, and the six imaginative executives who have succeeded him, to investigate the suffering impact of the style house.
“In 1947, Christian Dior changed the essence of design with his New Look, which re-imagined the female outline and revitalized the post-War Parisian style industry. The impact of Christian Dior’s structure was all-unavoidable and characterized a period,” says Oriole Cullen, who curated the display for the V&A.
