In Paris, in the boutique Dior on the Avenue Montaigne, the Christian Dior cruise collection was shown. The key theme of the show was the relationship of fashion and architecture. One reference of the collection was the film Agnès Varda Les Dites Cariatides (“the so-called caryatids”, 1984). The room was designed by artist, writer and feminist Penny Slinger. She decorated the boutique with caryatids, marble statues, images of female faces with marble statues and placed a 15-meter-high tree in the center of the podium.

“Clothing is a type of architecture, its task is to improve the proportions of the female body”. These words of Christian Dior could be read in the program for the show.

The creative director of the fashion house Maria Grazia Kyuri was inspired by the work of the writer Bernard Rudofsky “Are Clothes Modern?”, Written in the 1940s. In it, the author explores the theme of comfort of clothes, talks about whether clothes should be not only fashionable, but also comfortable.

The designer chose black as the main color of the collection. Curie presented black coats, jackets, skirts and dresses made of organza, silk, tulle, decorated with feathers, embroidery, sequins and lace. The veil has become an integral part of the collection. This accessory not only covered the faces of the models, but also decorated some outfits. The images complemented the small caps, diamond chokers, necklaces with large gems and pearl mono-earrings.

At the end of the show, a model appeared in the podium in a mini-dress, repeating the layout of the Dior headquarters on Montaigne Avenue, 30.
